In other news, shipping is again $5.50 for First Class. There was just no logical sense in Priority for us. We like First Class. It's inexpensive and works just fine. Let's Get Autumn Started! Here Lies... LE LIVE!

For me out in the Pacific Northwest, Summer really never got started. I mean we're now getting weather in the mid eighties, but I'm sure most of you are over the mercury broiling in the triple digits. I say, if we can't have the weather we want, we can at least revel in delusion and have the Fall season begin in our hearts and minds, right? Let's scatter the bats in the belfry and officially ring the skull bell with the femur bone; this is Halloween (the beginning, anyway!) 

Before we unleash this season's Limited Editions and Resurrecteds, we're starting the season right with a blood pulsing panic: we're resurrecting HERE LIES..., the cryptic perfume that sold out within 48 hours. Last year, I made 13 perfumes that came complete with a personalized label and their own hand painted and decorated coffins. This year, I'm going to do the same horrible thing and make only 13 coffins available. They will be taken off the site once they're sold out not to be seen again... until next year. Maybe. Don't miss out!

Witchin' in the Kitchen

The business of crafting conjure is one of experimentation, creativity and insight; it is the melding of practicality with magickal means. When we look at the "common" items in our lives we may be weighed down with the banality of existence, but with the right perspective, things that seem droll or commonplace can take on a sparkle and exist as something more that meets the eye.

Take soap, for example. We need it to get clean. Some amazing artisans craft beautiful bars that are works of art in their play of color, light and fragrance: they elevate the humble soap to another level.

I say let's take it higher!

I've been feverishly working on a new product line, tentatively called Witchin' the Kitchen. A line of personal and household products crafted Conjure style! Why let the dishes be drudgery, or the laundry be loathsome? If, by definition, magick is the art of changing consciousness at will, why not add intention into the mix? (Along with corresponding herbs and botanical oils, of course!)

The Azure Dragon

Things are still moving right along and we're getting close to being open to the public. I'm thinking we'll be open for business toward the end of this week. Stay tuned! It's hard to believe that it's been four years since I launched the Little Perfume House that Could! In these four years, I've had the pleasure and privilege of interacting with and meeting some of the most wonderful people through Conjure; the most intelligent, creative, inspiring, generous people out there. I feel so humbled to be able to serve your scented needs and I intend to continue to do so for as long as you all will allow me to do so. I know there are so many amazing artisan perfume houses to choose from and you choose Conjure. I am honored.

Allow me to introduce our fourth anniversary blend for your enjoyment.

FOUR
Decanted in 5ml glass amber bottles

Richly dark and succulent chocolate truffle cake sandwiched between layers of thick and gooey toasted coconut caramel sauce, frosted with lavender butter cream and topped with four crimson beeswax candles glowing brightly.

FOUR will be available until August 1st, or until supplies are exhausted.

Conjure Oils Brick & Mortar in Portland!

Hello Everyone!

We are ecstatic to softly announce that we are about 99.9% certain we will be relocating and opening our studio doors to the public!

 

As it stands, we are set to sign the paperwork on Wednesday for a 1000 square foot studio in the heart of the coolest and funkiest district in South East Portland - Hawthorne! (For the locals - it's in the space that Moonshadow occupied.) 

 

The only caveat is this - because of zoning, we can't use it as a retail space (at least overtly - and it's the reason the former tenant had to relocate) so it will be a show room for Conjure Oils.  All the oils from the catalog will be on display for sniffing and sampling and will call for local peeps will be available as well. We will manufacture and ship from the new location and I will take appointments for counseling and in-person custom fragrance blending consults. :D 

 

We will also be offering classes, have readers (tarot, palm, tea leaf, intuitive, etc.) and body workers available on site. We're also planning on having limited edition release parties and previews!

 

I'm trying to figure out a "members only" arrangement where we 'd offer invites to special classes and events, discounts on products, services and oils and entice you with all sorts of secret goodies! :D

 

I can sell some things (class related, for example) but it can't look like a shop. It needs to be more "service" oriented, which is ok because that's what I was going for anyway. If a walk-in client wanted to buy oils, it would be ok because I'd be offering my perfuming as a service; I would make it on site for them, fresh. Imagine a world with no TAT!

We'll need an all-inclusive name - like Conjure Aromacology, but one that also reflects the counseling and psychic reading services, too. I was toying with the idea of Conjure Works or The Conjure Wright as well, but I'm wide open to suggestions! Please do share them if you do!

We're slated to move in July 15th and are planning on having our grand opening party on the 30th. We need a band/musician to play! Who to invite?
