Hallows blessings, happy Day of the Dead and All Souls and Full Moon!Typically, Halloween is my favorite holiday, but this year it is tinged with sadness. My dear cat of thirteen tears, Ming!, died unexpectedly on the 12th of October. Shortly thereafter it seemed like many people were losing their beloved companions. I felt so heartbroken that I was overcome with the desire to craft a ritual oil to help soothe the heartache and show respect for the furry friends that have passed on. The resultant Rainbow Bridge oil has been calming and reassuring to me. I hope it can do the same for those whose hearts still sting over the loss of their beloved pets. They truly are family..In addition to the Rainbow Bridge ritual oil, we'll be offering the Carnal Delights design-your-own-scent collection, the latest and spookiest installment of the Mixtape collection as well as adding a tobacco single note to the Apothecary line and we'll also begin the Yule contest! HALLOWS will be available until the end of the month.

Spirits
in the Twilight Garden takes the Mixtape collection in a bit of a
different direction. Instead of a monthly installment, I'll start
seasonal offerings that encapsulate the mood, the ambiance and the
poetry of the season. Spirits in the Twilight Garden is a disembodied
romp through the supernatural that we find during the end of October and
the beginning of November. As the sun travels through the dark and
mysterious sign of Scorpio, known for its associations with death,
legacies, the underworld and the shadow aspects of our souls. Last month
we were treated to an eclipse while both the sun and the moon were in
Scorpio. It is not easy to have the darkness and the intensity of the
sign thrust upon us. For me, I was tossed head long into the grieving
process by losing my cat Ming! that put me into an existential tailspin
from which I'm still trying to develop some equilibrium. The fact that
Mercury is in Retrograde did little to help the matter.
I
guess the moral of the story would be to be kind to one another. We
don't know what they are going through, nor do they have any
understanding where we're at emotionally. During these particularly dark
and increasingly cold days, reach out in warmth, light and kindness. Be
the comfort you seek. Be the light in the dark. Love always wins.
As
with all other mixtapes, I don't own the songs, but though copyright
laws and fair use, I am able to use the titles, band names and sample
bits of lyrics. And because I don't like making money off of the
intellectual property of others, I donate a portion of sales to
MercyCorps. I hope that my adoration for the music shows through my

For the past eight years now (8th annual, REALLY? I can't believe it!) Conjure Oils has offered a contest for people to come up with a suggestion for a Holiday blend of their own design. Each and every year, I get more and more stunning, wonderful and creative entries and I'm hoping that this year will be no different!

Here's the contest: Come up with a name, a description, some notes, a story, an image. It doesn't matter which - you can develop the entire concept or just come up with one or two things. From these submissions, I'll select several ideas to create for the Yule line this year.
The winners will receive a 5ml bottle of their scent as well as a 30 dollar gift certificate good for anything on the Conjure Oils website in 2015 - we'll even cover shipping! ...not to mention you'll receive temporary fame on the Limited Editions page as well and be the envy of all your family and friends.
In order for me to potentially use them, all entries will become the property of Conjure Oils so make sure you want them out in the world before you submit your ideas! By entering the contest, you agree to give me permission to use your idea for production. If you don't want your name associated with your entry, let me know, ok? I'll respect your privacy. MULTIPLE ENTRIES ARE OK - (because last year I said one entry per person and it was widely ignored! LOL! You can enter more than once, but keep it under 5, just so I can stay sane and somewhat organized, ok? :D)
