Wu Xing: Seasonal Splendor in the Chinese Gardens
Wu Xing: Seasonal Splendor the Chinese Gardens, Late Summer 2011 is now LIVE!
Taking its inspiration from the Portland Chinese Gardens, Wu Xing: Seasonal Splendor in the Chinese Gardens is my deep, reverent and contemplative bow to the seasons of the year; how their mutable and mercurial presence reminds us that through nature, we can find healing and enlightening metaphors for our own lives and processes.

The Azure Dragon
SPRING: Element of Wood. The sun rising in the East, the verdant and expansive energy of the planet Jupiter. Generative, sprouting, sensitive, new born. Taking in the sights: looking through picture books, or enjoying everything from Spring flowers to sour lemons.
Mirabelle plum, coconut husk, lemon honey, cedar wood, aged amber resin, sandalwood musk, crushed moss and tonka bean.
The Vermillion Bird
SUMMER: Element of Fire, the color red, the midday sun blazing in the summer sky. The direction South, the energetic and active energy of the planet Mars. The expansiveness of Summer: blooming, youthful, hot, creative, sweaty, happy. Chatting and laughing over coffee with loved ones.
Apricot nectar, honeysuckle blossoms, vanilla musk, creamy white amber, heliotrope, basmati rice and a drop of sweet clove.

The Yellow Dragon
LATE SUMMER: Element of Earth. Long shadows cast in the golden light of the late afternoon. Finding your center, stabilizing and exercising the constraint of Saturn's energy. Fruit ripening on the vine: mouth-watering sweetness, damp and fragrant. The clarity of purpose; adulthood. Pure love.
Aged vanilla resin, ginger infused red patchouli, seductively sweet Medjool dates and exotic Silk Road spices.

The White Tiger
AUTUMN: Element of Metal, the silvery shimmer of the sun setting in the West; white twilight, loving Venus glimmering in the dusky sky. The melancholy of turning within and contracting our energy. The pungency of withering flowers, old age and the grief of impermanence.
Black tea, crushed violet petals, peach sugar, red sandalwood, aged amber resin, cured tobacco, soft suede and threadbare linen

The Black Tortoise
WINTER: Element of Water. Frozen in the silent blackness of midnight we lie dormant, longing for the ever-changing, spontaneous energy that is the signature of Mercury. Conserving our energy, we fend off our primal fears of darkness and death while we wait in suspended animation for the creative cycle to begin again with the rising sun.
Pomegranate fruit, blood musk, black vanilla orchid, dark patchouli, sugared amber, black currant and deep myrrh.

Le Sacre du Printemps - Back Again
Due to multiple requests (and because I'm a sap!) Le Sacre du Printemps is again available for your enjoyment! Both lines will be live until the end of August, or until supples are exhausted; whichever comes first!
The Conjure Works
A big thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate The Conjure Works' petite opening last Saturday! It means more to me than you'll ever know! Things are still moving right along and we're getting close to being open to the public. I'm thinking we'll be open for business toward the end of this week. Stay tuned! We're also still accepting donations if you'd like to contribute and support the Conjure Works from a distance! If you donate $25 or more, you'll receive a 5ml bottle of Gratitude! Click HERE for the scent description and the donate button!
Meanwhile, here are some more recent pictures of the space and of the party. A good time was had by all!

Looking in on the space toward the counseling area and the couch which everyone covets.

The oil mines are hidden behind the couch and blinds. No one should be subjected to that level of chaos! :D

There was such a good turn out for the celebration! Miss Lucy had a blast and the Rose City Steampunks, Local 23 were out in full force!
Lammas blessings,
Vajra
